DESCRIPTION:
Govardhan Puja is celebrated four days after Diwali.
In the Hindu calendar, this is the first lunar day of Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) in the month of Kartik.
Cow dung hillocks are built to symbolize Mount Govardhan, the mountain which was once lifted by Lord Krishna. Women move in a circle all round the cow dung hillocks and offer prayers to Lord Govardhan.
